We do winter a little differently here in Florida. Now is the time to run out of our air-conditioned indoor sanctuaries to enjoy the state's beautiful and inviting weather. So in honor of the Winter Solstice next Wednesday, we're featuring 4 beautiful spots to escape to for a wild weekend each month from December through March.

1.) Juniper Springs- Rated "G" for Glamping

Check out this cozy campground tucked away in the center of Ocala National Forest, about 1.5 hours north of Orlando. Its wondrous canopy of tropical palms mixed with towering live oaks will have you feeling lost in your wildest dreams! Explore the historic mill constructed by the Civilian Conservation Corps and swim in the refreshing natural spring pool (68-72 degrees year-round). The campground offers many amenities: fire pits, bathrooms and showers, dish-washing stations, and best of all- potable spring water

Feeling extra adventurous? Take on their world-class Canoe Run. During this 7-mile journey downstream, you'll glide over crystal blue waters (& even a small stretch of exciting, but mellow, rapids!) deep into the beautiful forest. Make sure to keep your eyes peeled for the occasional gator sunbathing on the water's edge, zen-like turtles in some remarkable poses, and birds flaunting their beautiful feathers for one another.  BONUS: It's one the most beautiful canoe runs in the country. No disposables allowed on boats, so remember your canteens and tupperware!
